ok this is just wat ive been thinking about for the past few months
wat i would like to do afta me vn is finished to what i would like it to be like aprox end of this year begining of next id like to get my hands on a vl wags unreg just hald decent condition strait body no rust is all im gonna be worried about
now here is the idea ive had
have a sleeper vl wags the idea behind it is to be able to sit at the lights and have a idiot next to me that thinks he is all that and play with him for a few sets of lights
id have a fairly stock looking body only things i would do is have a nice paint job proberly red over silver calais style a decent set of 18s not chromeys just a nice set lower a little bit and maybe tint the tail lights and some dark tint for the outside look
the interior would be done up fairly nice but id try and make it look rather stealthy so keep the theives away and a bit of a light show aswell
but where it will all be in in the engine
id keep the nissan 6 but work it relli relli hard i wanna have it relli relli powerful i would want it at about 570hp(i think this is about the highest street legal power) i know it sounds like i am dreaming and i proberly am but yeh this is just sumink i wanna attempt
it would proberly be a 4 or 5 year prodject but imagine wat it would be like i just think it would be priceless peice of machinery

So u want a sleeper but u wanna chuck 18's on it? I think a sleeper is sumfin with 14's or 15's with hub caps haha. And the 18's will prolly attrack the thieves, not keep them away.
And for power, just rebuild it and make the bottom end tuff as f**k, then bolt on a massive turbo and ur set! :thumsup:

yeh thats proberly a better idea with ceptors i was just thinking nice mags for car shows and wat not
and if i acturly do this car it wont get driven that much maybe thursday nights and sat nights on the occasion it would be a handfull to drive and to insure well that would be hard i think it would be in the shed most its life
just a good bottom end with turbo wont cut it tho i would deff go twin turbo proberly strap on a rb25 head i think they fit and some other stuff but it would deff get a full rebuild with all new forged internals and other goodies

just go single turbo.. heaps of parts readily available and can still make huge power. IMO dont paint it or do anything to the exterior, keep the hubcaps, put roof racks on it etc. thats a real sleeper
yeh i know but i kinda atleast want a fairly good paint job
but then again if its good paint i could just buff her up real nice
mite not even up being a full sleeper but who knows ill cross that track when i come to it just not gonna go overboard with the body
the real work will be in the engine
i know a lad that has one, its a laughable vl, crap paint, little bit of rust, exhaust leaks, crappy tires but under the bonnet is home to a custom intake manifold, upgraded turbo that pushes 20 to 30 pound through the engine and a few other little bits, apparantly the looks on peoples faces when they hear turbo whine the black trails it makes is priceless
your got to bee kidding, 20 to 30psi would be making about the 300rwkw mark and thats good for a 10second auto vl genrally.
i assume your mates motor aint the stockest internalls as if it is stock he will be needing a rebuild very dam near in the future.
as for sleeper you cant beat rb25det's car of here, 350rwhp if im right and dead stock white bt1, with lawn bowls sticker, knitted parcel shelf rug and NO massive 'wank wank' front mount
ive been thinking of doing my daily with a little bit of fun tweek with it, shift kit, spool and 4:11's but keep deciding not to as its my daily and wasting money on it is just stupid as ive got a car need money outside

Not sure on this as to be honest, Im not a mechanic, nor am I really that good :P
But the R31 engine had a GTS counterpart with a twin cam, Only 200 ever made I believe, get hold of one of these babies, rebuild it, work it, forged internals blah blah blah, there is your sleeper.
Actually a Chick I know Jackie has a GTS, she hunted it down and traveled from Melbourne to Queensland to get it but shes a rev head and her, and her last two boyfriends shagged it![]()
Yeah a sleeper should have roof racks, hub caps, the venetions would be a nice touch, but then no one would see the baby on board or mums taxi sign hanging there.
paint should be scuffed and worn looking, dinted doors and fendors are a must as well as some primer spots were touch up jobs began :P
it should make odd sounds on idle and generally show no signs of having balls,
