Default Super 6.. but on Ps

    Howdy,

I have the money to purchase a super 6 but I can't drive a super as I'm on my Green Ps.

Do you think I could purchase a super 6 and take the supercharger off.. then wait 18 months and put it back on? I think the manifold and a bunch of other things are different in a factory super - is this correct? I know I can't purchase a NA 6 banger and then wait 18 months and just whack a super on it properly.. as I'll need to change some things - true?

Any help would be much appreciated

either way, its really too much hassle to be worth it.

buy a n/a 6, only spend money on it to keep it on the road, save everything else til you're off green p's, then either sell the car and buy a super6 car, or drop a super6 motor directly in.

I thought no forced induction was the rule in NSW regarding P platers?

No laws in Qld at the moment, but they are changing in a few months I believe. YAY for getting my p's before the laws change.

meh i dont like the laws much...but i'm happy with the go in my manual VX...where i'm from hardly anyone cares about power now, its all about show and whos rich daddy can buy them the nicest car...stupid Griffith...

yeah it annoys me too cos a mate of mine lived in QLD for four months and changed his license to QLD but they didnt take his NSW ones...so if he wants to drive a V8 he uses his QLD license as ID, he sucks...till it gets taken off him...
Need some parts for my VH 253:
Green standard steering wheel...Green lower B-pillar covers.
Green sunglasses holder/lower dash bits...Air-con and assorted engine bay parts.
    PM with any info.

Nah I just got sucked into the restrictions... bleh!

I -could- get a bad car but I want something nice to drive, something fun.. I must admit, the few V6 I have driven around seem to be perfectly fine regarding power, and they were all just NA. I'm sure a few tweaks here and there will make her run better.

Looking at all the cars in my price bracket (up to $15,000), they're mostly all crap / dodgy / annoying / too small.

I'll wait until I'm off my Ps 'till I get a supercharger or something - but I probably won't need one anyway.

    Thanks for the help!

A STOCK L67 is not overly special, so unless you were planning on modding the super 6, It wouldnt be much of a big deal.

lol in the same way a stock 5L (which it's faster than) isn't special? Gee that must be why so many people go on about the 5L

Anyway, play it safe until you get your full license... there's plenty of nice cars out there for $15K. That money gets you a VX S, maybe a VY exec, or with a bit of hunting, a v6 WH (yes it's big but still goes pretty good)... none of which I'd call "crap".

I wasnt having a crack, I was just making a point. If he just wants a stock super 6, he can just get an NA 6 and add a cam/chip and be just as quick. Obviously if he's looking to modify its a different story because the super 6 has cheap potential (as does a V8), which an N/A 6 doesnt in comparison.

Mate for 15G I'd buy a nice clean VT 3.8 litre stocka which you can get for about 8-9G's now and buy a L67 crate motor (brand new) for 5G. Then save the rest of your pennies over the next 18 months for the conversion and a few Bang for Buck upgrades. Thats is if your set on a super 6. Just a thought.
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]I'd rather be blown..otherwise you suck!
