Question Simple Safety Question

Is it safe to sandblast standard rotors? They have minimal wear.

from what i am aware no it wont but most of the rotor is hidden anyway and if u r worried about like rust on the pad contact surface just have them machined would be a hell of a lot easier

Yes. It leaves tiny pit marks on the contact surface and these will wear you pads too quickly. Heat is what stops your car, not how abrasive the disc is. If you have one of those small sandblasters and you are careful not to hit the contact surface then it would be OK. Then you are only going to have to paint them because exposure to air will make them rust again. Making sure you don't paint the contact surface of course.
