Default Commodore ute tub damage, how to repair

Im after a commodore ute, and came across a VR with some panel damage to the tub/rear 1/4 panel. I dont really know how these things are put together at all, and was wondering how to go about repairing something like this (if I bought it, just seeing if it would be worthwhile)
Are these just bolt on panels? is this structural damage?
How would you go about fixing it?
Cheers

see as the damage is only 1/4 and not into the door (from here it looks)your lucky.
simpley have to buy a new 1/4 panel and spot weld it on. if there is no damage to the structure behind its 'skin'

just remove all items where its on the 1/4 and un drill the spot welds, the 'skin' with a bit of coxing from a chisel will come right off,
make sure there is no damage to the actual tub of the wheel as that will require more work in straighing it out and same with the structure in it.

Do you know the history of this car, I would be very suspicious if buying that. Also wanna check rear axles as it could be part of the damage.

I'd be finding out if it was sideswiped by something or did it go sideways into something. If it is the latter, the rear suspension could be bent. Otherwise it shouldn't be that hard to repair provided it is cheap enough.

Looking at the rest of the car it looks like it has been broadsided judging by the dent on the other side. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/COMMODORE-VN-...QQcmdZViewItem Pity this other ute was in Sydney, you could buy that too and buil a good one out of both.

Ok thanks for that. I have done enough panel work to last me a life time on my last car Might give it a miss!

And if anyone has a ute for sale you know who wants one
