    Ok, Just have to tell someone its absolutely killing me inside if i dont,

    Friday 20th of april, Mate takes delivery of his first car, Black VS s pack with statesman leather interior, Pretty shmick condition and cheap $6,000 with 12months rego, I new it had a front end smash but had been repaired but the owner insisted of being disonest and lieing about it, Anyway...

    He decides to take it to the service station.

    Fills her up, Now he decided to drive home, but this will be the cars first and last trip home.

    taking corner too fast loosing control over correcting =
    Twisted front, dinted side rail = ride off. Thanks for looking come and laugh another time.

    Well it did look nice. It pissed down rain last night. Im sure a lot of people took advantage of it to drift and spin their wheels.

    Shouldve taken it back to the owner and said, i got down the road and magically the front end fell off and wrote off the car.

    Friggen idiot, I'd hate for my mates to be that stupid.

    I'm always so easy on my new cars untill iv'e learned them, the way they handle and most of all if you take it easy while learning a new car you generally figure out that half the front bushes and all the suspension needs replacing the easy way, rather than not be able to control the car and learn the hard way.

    ::EDIT::

    Just one thing, I am however glad no one was hurt, no one was hurt yeah?

    It's all good and well to call the bloke an idiot, but if hes hurt i'd say he doesn't need us to tell him how stupid he is, it's always sad when inexperienced people crash a car and it's even worse when people die or get hurt I honestly hope he buys a crapbomb next and learns to respect cars, the road and the bloodly law.

    ::END EDIT::

    yeah my first car as a clapped out rusty old TORANA UC, we restored it probably not 100% but fairly close.

    then we sold it for a song and a six pack so I could by mums XE so my sister could drive it too.

    That old shagged XE took a beating and a half, although I loved it to bits after it got wrote off because some F wit cut across me im glad it was that XE and not that sexy UC Sunbird

    I agree 100%. There are too many unexperienced drivers out there in high powered, expensive vehicles. Buy them a $500 ****ter, until they get some experience behind them.

    Some people wont learn tho. I know many who have crashed many cars, and just keep doing it.

    Although, some people just can't drive full stop, some learn, most don't.

    Yeah true. But at least you can have some hope for them when they are starting off.

    I think all it was (in this case) was a guy getting his new car, wanting to test it out, not knowing its capabilities, mixed with the horrid rain we had that night making things a little worse.

    Ive been in the car of a guy who tried to do a handbreak turn, in a suburban street at 80+ k's an hour. We ended up in the nieghbours backyard. There are just people out there, who dont deserve to get behind the wheel.

    I guess its a good thing we have those power to weight ratios. If he had brought a v8 (assuming this guy was on his p's i couldnt see the window in the pic) he may have ended up injured/killed, even hurting another person.

    People should realise, a car is a tonne of metal. Travelling at 80 k's its a weapon if they arent careful.

    you make it sound like its the car thats the problem.

    Its the driver, not the car. People drive outside of their limits, or outside of the cars limits, which is where they come unstuck. I know what my car can do, and what i can/can't do, and with that, all my panels are straight!

    I know what you mean. I'd been driving the XU6 for long enough to know what it can and can't do, and how much acceleration is too much, they way it handles round corners, etc.

    But I hadn't driven it in the wet at that stage. And the first time I did, I accelerated just a little too much round a corner at an intersection, and it kicked out on me. No accident or anything like that, but I soon learnt to basically not accelerate round sharp corners in the wet in it.

    And I remember even when I first really drove it, I kept spinning the wheels everywhere. It was such a change going from Ruby, to the XU6.

    the problem is people don't learn their car, til something happens, like your experience.

    I was the opposite, i went out for weeks on end out country (well, if you can call Pt Gawler country) testing what it can do with nothing to hit, hence how i know what it'll do. You could say its like a defensive driving course, but free, and self taught

    I would have, but I was too busy whinging that was NO country round us. Being a tassie, the country seem hours upon hours away. (I'm still whinging that there are no bends in the roads, and no mountains.)

    But I will admit, the first time I ever drove it, I was scared. I took off sooooo slow to go round the block.
