Default Stalling Vectra

Well for some time my sister has been havign a problem with her 97 vectra,
it keeps stalling when you pull up to trafic lights or stopping.
when pulling up the revs go to idle then just lower till the car stalls. the computer doesnt even attempt to pick the revs up to stop the stalling and being a vectra it isnt as cheap as a commie so replacing everything wouldnt be the best option.

we have had it at holden and they said it was the CAS and changed it supposibly but it hasnt done anything. its been like this for a few months and has got me and the old man baffeled

old man changed the plugs today, the old plugs were fine but he changed them just to be sure.

soo any ideas out there,
all help will be aprciated very much

Sean

suspect idle air control valve - common on vectra's to fail.

there is an updated IACV with a reflash to fix this, along with some other small items, the main thing is the small vac line from the cam cover to the throttlebody, the port in the tb blocks up, you need to clear it with a 1.5mm drill or small bit of wire., the TPS/Base idle needs to be set correctly then have the IACV replaced & the updated engine management software installed, this will fix the problem.

cheers for that DrBob, not sure if its still stalling or what will find out when my sister gets home and i will give it a check in the pipe.

this reflash can it only be done at a holden dealer? and is there any signs that can be seen to tell if its alread been updated?
