Preen pre wash stain remover. Let it sit for about 5 minutes then hose off, then wipe down with a rag. Or degreaser.....

I've been using kero and an old paint brush. Cheaper than degreaser and great for getting the gunk off.

I just go to the car wash, pop $2 in the machine, spray with the degreaser they supply through the gun, then rinse with the guns fresh water, My engine bay is spotless.

    Built up gunk?

The car wash works real well, my local says to wash the green degreaser off with high pressure soap then water which works extremely well, pitty i have belt grip everywhere

I know this is a really old thread but I didnt want to create a whole new one-

Im a bit worried about hosing down my engine bay- will it stuff anything if I do?

I know you can use a rag but Ive had the car for over three years without cleaning under there (No lectures please!) and its absolutley filthy!!!

When finished cleaning, spray some tyre shine on a rag and wipe over all the black components in the engine bay for a shiny finish.
