hey guys..........just purchased a group a bonnet for my car and its alpine white and my car is alaskan white so that means i gotta sand the paint off and respray.........i had sprayed before using gun and compressore etc, but it was only on things that had already been prepped........was just wondering on how to go out stripping the paint off? I know some people use sandpaper.........it obviously has the group a scoop on it too so what would be the best way of getting that haggard alpine white paint off of it? cheers![]()
Get yourself some paint stripper. Don't get it on your skin tho, it canes. or if ya don't wanna do that, just use an orbital sander. You gonna go bare metal re-spray? You can just sand off the top layer with a finer grit paper so the paint sticks and re-paint over it, especially seen as it's just another shade of white.

yup, just use a light grade, 600 maybe, sand paper and take the shine off the paint work, once it is sort of a matt white all over, give it a wash, dry and your good to go.
Id use a Wet/Dry paper and use lots of water to prevent it clogging the grain.
aZk.
It depends on the condition of the paint whether you just rubb back or bare metal
