It sounds about correct except from what I know the vehicle speed is determined within the transmission and not from wheel to road contact.
Not to mention the fact that I hate all spam mail, pass this on blah blah.
dang didnt know that. oh well i dont have cruise control but good to know
wow, no cruise in the rain anymore
haha, it amazes me how many people get sucked in by this.
The throttal is opened a certain amount, and wont exceed that.
Explained easily, there is a limit on how much the cable will open, when it gets to that limit, it stops. Ever used cruise going up a hill? the car slows down (staying at the same revs) not speeds up
Another stupid cop, telling a stupid woman a stupid story, then she sends am email to everyone lol

Been posted before, and there was a whole huge long debate about it on here last year......

ha ha this is to sus..! ive owned my vs calais for 7 months and the cruise wasnt working untill i fixed it tonight! and my wife took it for a spin and i can tell evryone here that i does feel like it would be easy to loose it in the wet with the cruise on as it actually feels like your driveing faster than normal! but it does maintaina constant speed and fuel economy is sweetfeels so weird being in a car thats cruisein by itself ha!
It rains here like, once a year.
Saved!.
Yeah it's old and the RAA sussed it out and came to the conclusion that it was a hoax.![]()

When i first got me car i tested it to see how much it would kick back if i was doin 80up hill but cruze was set on 100.
Didnt kick back, just gave sum more rev, turnd off cruze put me foot down a bit n kick back n away she went
My S2 VY keeps to the same speed when going up hill it just changes down a gear
well the car shouldn't exceed the set speed, I remember my old EA, you could jack the back end up and spin the wheels and still get a speed reading, so losing contact shouldnt really make the car speed up a huge deal or even at all.
Although the times my car has aqua plained I stopped accelerating and let the car regain contact with the road (Hoped for it too anyway :P )
Cruise control would just keep on accelerating at the same speed but tbh I dont think a car that has lost contact with the road even if you tramped it could get any worse, think of it this way, lets jack your car in the air or put it ona hoist, now put it in gear and spin them wheels, does your car lift into the air?
If it does ill buy it.
Oh you guys with cruise have autos.....
I like choosing my gear. Guess it is sorta applicable in some cases, but even driving with both my cars when they were auto, i have never experienced such a thing.
I think this story is just a case of a woman driver........no thats it, seriously, the problem was the woman driver![]()

The only real danger of using crusie in the wet is the extra reaction time it takes to apply the brake, as most people move their feet away from the pedals and takes a little longer to put your foot on the brake.
story is crap but the car can exceed set limit of cruise controll, when i have cruise set and i go down a really steep hill she goes faster than the set speed and i have to brake and when going up a hill it accelerates to keep to the set speed, why would you have cruise controll if you have to keep accelerating every time the road condition changes slightly ??
thats cause the cruise is only connected to the accelerator, if you go down a steep hill the cruise control will close the throttle but it cant do anything if the car starts rolling down the hill at more then the set speed.
as for the car flying, what a crock of ****. even a little cessna which is designed to efficiently produce lift to make it fly needs to travel at around 110km/h to produce enough lift to overcome gravity. a car, without wings, would have to be traveling a hell of a lot faster then that for it to even have a slight possibility of leaving the ground. certainly much faster then you'd be going with your cruise control set.
matt.
