    Default What happened to this car?

    Does anyone know anything about or ever seen a 1995 HSV VS Commodore GTS-R?

    All i know is:

    HSV's stunning new GTS-R Commodore is launched at the 1995 Sydney Motor Show. Only 75 of the 5.7-litre, 215kW, bright yellow cars are to be produced with each buyer being flown to HSV's Melbourne factory and shown through the building operation. It is also possible to have the engine blueprinted by the HRT mechanics.

    Anyone?

    ive seen 1 before.. there pretty lairy looking things.....

    i also herd they had carbon fibre wheels or some ****

    well there was only 75 built so i guess they are very rare.

    i bet atleast 50 of those would be sitting at a wreckers somewhere by now.

    meh, saw 2 of these sitting in a car yard down the road from me a coupla months back.

    They had them god-awful rear wings on it, still a nice car though. I doubt there'd be many left.

    You would be supprised how many are left!! They are quite rare now. They had a carbon fibre rear wing, center caps and body kit highlights. I'll post more info later.

    yea there are a few around... there was one at harrys diner (brisbane northside) on friday night with the number plates 'BANANZ' or something like that. im not a big fan of them my self... i dont like the wheels, or the gigantic ricer wing on them, but they are worth a fortune.

    i think a lot of mock up's have been made too.
    think slr5000's 60 were made and theres 6000 on the street today.
    We got rep back, yaaay!

    Yeah ive seen one, and yeah interior is MINT the outside is yuck, not even a good color yellow, rims and wing are messed up, and yeah worth a fortune, and i reckon most of them are still around, because the ppl that own them, the would just be sittin in a garage or show room and not driven

    Not bad, but never took much notice of them. After reading this topic, I like them a bit better.

    Although the wing looks a bit silly, as well as a few other things. I've never liked the wheels or wing.

    it is ugly, but they had to do something to it to make it stand out easily from every other VS commodore

    Doubt it. For the most part they were bought by wealthy enthusiast/collector types either new or near new and have been kept very well. IIRC the yellow is exactly the same as the Victorian "taxi" yellow at the time.

    There made have been 60 A9X sedans but there was thousands of normal SLR5000's made, they wern't uncommon at all

    I can tell you there one of the best handling VS's.Our service adviser at landrover in Brisbane had to get one of the seats repaired.He came out in the workshop threw me the key and said take it down there.wahoo one of the best cars iv driven so far,beats the hell out of driving $120,000 range rover vouges

    there was 85 built. 75 for aus, 9 for NZ and 1 press car. and for some reason i think the press car was build 00, the first time HSV had ever used 00 as a build number
