Hi guys, my wife and i have decided to start looking for a VS wagon. She will use it as her daily driver and we will use it when we go away as a family.
I have noticed that Holden never released this model with a Calais varient and so im wondering if it would be better to look for a Berlina with dual airbag option or an Acclaim with the power window option.
Apart from the climate control being standard on the Berlina, which im not really fussed on anyway, is there any other differences between the two.
I know the Berlina would have factory wheels but they would go straight away in favour of something else as would the Acclaims hubcaps.
What about the Equip, or was that just a tarted up Exec with factory extras to help flog em off?
Any guidance would be most welcomed.
Cheers
Steve
It wasnt just VS', Holden just havent made Calais wagons.
Are you sure the Berlina wagon had climate control standard? I dont believe it does as climate is a calais option and was only in the calais loom (so unless they used the calais loom in the berlina wagon...).
Berlina's and calais both have climate control. calais just has the little more then a berlina ? my vt berlina has it and all the ones i have seen has it...

Tomorrow doesn't look good either.
God must love stupid people, He made so many.
I was talking VN-VS, as I didnt think there were any exceptions in the loom, its either a calais loom with climate or its not and climate couldnt be optioned? Maybe the wagons are different but im mostly thinking out loud, I dont actually know.
Im pretty sure all vr and vs berlina's had climate control. One other thing the berlina would have is a trip computer if your into that sort of thing, not sure how accurate it would be though
Thanks guys
I had a look on redbook.com and found the Berlina and Acclaim models with a feature description.
Apparently the climate was standard on the Berlina but didn't appear as an option for the Acclaim.
The Acclaim however did get dual airbags as standard which was an option on the Berlina, funny that, i thought as the Berlina was the highest optioned wagon available without looking into HSV.
From this, would it be fair to say that the Acclaim is a safety package as it has ABS, dual SRS and cruise as standard with LSD option?
If so, i guess i would be better off looking for a clean low K Acclaim considering it will be used by my wife and kids mainly.
cheers
Yeah i was gonna say that as i saw a real nice 5.0l version in burgandy many years ago now.
Apparently not too many were made in the V8 wagon style though.
Still one of if not the nicest of all holdens made the 5.0 VL calais IMO, a true cult car and sure to appreciate in the future with current car trends.
yep vl calais wagons only made 200 all where auto and came either N/A 6, V8 or Turbo 6
