    Most parts are generic now-a-days.

Theres alot more than just the interior light the same (can't remember off the top of my head, but i know that a 6cyl falcon gearbox is the same T5 as VN/VP 5Ls)

Sounds like what's happened here if that's the case.I'd say a previous owner has had to replace the cover at some stage and has the Ford one laying around in the garage, thought it looked similar and found it fit ok so clipped it on.Some people just don't care about brand loyalty
Whoops, didn't read LowVP' s post above!! that'll explain it...common supplier.

From memory the rear seat fold down tray bit on VT-Z are exactly the same as that used in an XF Falcon. Get used to it - we are all driving Fords in drag

I'd say its just us. After all the hated holden name isn't there. Just that mysterious global company "GM"

Seriously, I doubt most would notice the GM but change it to Holden and you'd have a war :O

The same light is used in the EA or EB Fairmont Ghia ... That is why it has the ford part number...

I found this out when I was converting to the full Calais interior in my VN ...
I spend too much money on my cars & bike

yep, i think my standard vs one has the ford logo stamped in it, ford cant even design a light, i have to have my bulb sitting just before the actual clamps they are too tight and blow the bulbs constantly

I think you'll find that Holdens plastic plant manufactured these lights and from memeory i believe they may have pressed body panels for the EA-D series falcons in the plant 4 press shop.

I dont really see what the problem is though, would a VL owner seeking a replacement donk for his car turn up his nose at a Skyline RB30 just coz it has Nissan on the rocker and not Holden?

I installed a Calais light recently over the normal boring one and it had Ford and GMH stamped into the same part - the base plate that mounts into the room. I might scan it later if I get a chance.

Mine has ford on it too... 90% of them do

Also a tip... if you have a led interior light bulb, grab a clear (not frosted) cover of a BA falcon cheaper than the ones on ebay

Like when Ford were stamping panels for the VT/VX.

Doesn't really matter as most parts are built by suppliers to the specs (well you'd hope) of GM or Ford.

I dont have a problem with it either. Its only the interior light and the ford stamp is out of view. But im not really a 'i would rather push a holden than drive a ford' sort of person.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people
