    Default Thermo fan

My son has a KE Laser and is having trouble with the thermo fan not coming on and the car is over heating . The fan works ok if you connect it to the battery and the sensor on the thermostat housing is ok . What i want to know is how would i go rewiring the fan using another relay as the fan is activated by the earth wire . Would i just hook up the relay as normal ,and hook up the earth wire to the sender on the thermostat housing to turn on the fan when the sensor reaches the correct temp .

Or maybe a after market sensor that runs straight into one of the hoses,,had one on a previous car that worked a treat..
