funny valve thing under rear of ute
got an arm that comes off the pan hard rod attached by a small part of chain , goes to a spring thing , and attached to a valve or something , in the brake lines.. what exactly is its purpose , and by lowering the car will this affect rear brake wear or anything?
Its not what you know or who you know , its how well you can fake it
its the load proportioning valve for the rear brakes so they dont lock up when the trays empty and gives you more rear braking when theres a load on if youve lowered it try shortening it by 1 link there was a thread about it but it might be gone

it wont do anything if you lower it - mine hasnt and a few of my mates have lowered utes and none have had any problems

the pedal seems to have goten a bit harder.. i might take it up a notch i thihk.. see what happens

When you lower it, the valve will let more brake pressure to the rear wheels and will brake like it is loaded. Over time, it will wear the rear pads more than it should. Safety could be an issue as well because you are lessening the brake pressure on the front when it is empty, this could lead to rear brake lock up and the front brakes still not pulling you up as they should. Shorten the chain by the same amount that it has dropped when you lowered it.
