    Default Timing Cover issue.

    soz bout the long post.

i just swapped timing covers over on my vr commodore.

History: its a 1993 vr v6 commodore, which ive had the original motor repalced by a vn series 2 motor. So the series 2 VN motor does not have the camshaft sensor. so i swapped the vr timing car (from old motor) onto the new motor (vn series 2 which is current in car). (i had to swap the crank thingo inside the timing cases if you know what i mean lol).

put it all back together an filled her up with water, an relised it was leaking around the side of water pump.. not the only bad thing.. some of the water got inside the timing case (went into the oil sump.

so i took it all back off and noticed there was bits of old gaskets still there :$ so i cleaned all surfaces, used gasket goo and gasket, and its all back together. and it seems there is no leaks any more. so i dropped the oil. put new oil in, started the car, took for drive around the block, checked the oil an it seems to still be a bit milky sorta colour.

My question is.. do you think i still have a leak,, or will it take a few oil changes to get that crap outa the car completly?

Probably just a bit of coolant still mixed in with the oil.

Did you replace the oil filter?

You could try an off the shelf engine flush, which you put into the engine oil and run the engine for how ever long the product says, then drain the oil. Fill her up and see how you go.
