I thought it would be nice to organise a list of current g-tech best times and mods done for everyone out there that is into this kind of thing. Of course the occasional oddball time shouldn't be posted, once in a 100 or so I get a run that is unrealistic and a fair bit faster than I've done before and so it's obvious something went haywire there
So maybe in the format
Make: Holden
Model: VP
Engine: 304
Transmision: T700, corvette servo
Diff ratio: 3.08:1 single
Modifications: VN headers, custom tune, 2.5 inch cat back, some deadner removal
Best time: 5.69
Afterthoughts: I can make that kind of time with near perfect traction but I need alot of fuel in the tank and the spare tyre to get something near full traction these days, less fuel and no spare and it breaks out once it hits about 3200 rpm in 1st and just sits on the limiter until 2nd gear settles down.
Future Goals: Well sub 5 seconds this time next year would be nice, but short term (within two months) a LSD, 3.45 gears and a better exhaust should see me cruise into the low 5 range

AWESOME thread ^^ hahaha. So much better than those dyno runs
Maybe also add a little spec for afterthoughts of the run, what you think could be improved, what you're aiming for, etc
Make: Holden
Model: VP
Engine: N/A V6
Transmision: T700, stage 2, corvette servo
Diff ratio: 3.08:1 (open)
Modifications: custom CAI, ATFY tune, 2.5 inch cat back, 225 rear tyres, sound deadner removal, towbar removal.
Best time: 7.18
Dosh Spent: $550
Afterthoughts: Traction is a huge issue throughout the first half of 1st gear. Too easy to launch sideways and keep it that way, which generally results in a 7.8 or thereabouts. LSD is a wish, but 3.7s are probably more affordable... and likely to compound the problem ^^
Future Goals: Sub-7, certainly. I want to get as close to 7.00 as I can before throwing in diff gears... and hopefully with greenfoam's aid and tuning expertise, I should get thereIn the end, I'm looking for mid 6s with 3.7s and LSD.

Diff ratio: 3.08:1 single spinner

Best time: 6.35
Afterthoughts: Tune needs modifying before another run and traction from launch is a big issue. less than half throttle until i hit around 50km/h, then i can floor it.

trans:T5
diff:LSD, 3.45:1 gears
mods:shielded POD with CAI, heat shield(for headers),headers with 2.5" zorst, 82 degree thermostat, SV3800 tune (arbp)
wheels:195/70/14's (original rims etc)
0-60mph time:6.91
thoughts:definitly got traction issue with the stock wheels. there is also plenty more to be had from the tune as it doesn't have much timing in it. with decent wheels and a good tune i'm hoping to drop closer to the mid 6 sec 60mph time. it still has my work tools in the boot and aftermarket (heavy as) towbar etc so thats an easy 50kg to come out yet
futuremods:remove towbar, better tune and decent wheels. maybe also a decent clutch as the factory model doesn't like to much abuse/heat and a pro billet short shifter(with straight 2nd-3rd shift gate)

Model: VS
Engine: 304 185i
Transmision: T5, 5 Speed Manual
Diff ratio: 3.08 LSD
Modifications: Pacemakers, twin system, chip, CAI, K&N Panel filter
Best time: 6.11 with wheelspin
Afterthoughts: Reasonable impressed, room for improvement with wheelspin and all.
Future Goals: Hope to get into 5's as is, need more practice and then set another goal after the 3.45's are in.
Make: VS ute
Model: Vs
Engine: ecotec (280000km)
Transmision: 5spd
Diff ratio: 3.08:1 (fairly shagged LSD)
Modifications: SC14 s/c@6psi+-, intercooled, twin 2.5" exhaust, extractors, 70mm TB, custom tune
Best time: 5.57
Dosh Spent: about 5g total on s/c setup
Afterthoughts: really have to nurse it thru first gear or it breaks loose, new tyres shortly should help tho, diff ratio is a touch tall for it, bulk torque down low from PD blower makes launching a little tricky
Future Mods: CAI bonnet scoop, 3.45 diff, another 3.5psi boost
Future Goals: hoping for around 4.8 eventually (really want it under 5)
Make: Holden
Model: VP
Engine: 3.8
Transmision: T5
Diff ratio: 3.45:1
Modifications: sc14, 10psi, cooled & spooled, pacies, 3" twin cat zorst, tuned.
Best time: 5.11
Afterthoughts: bit of wheelspin going into 2nd, soft launch to save frying tyres - a quicker time with better tyres was probably possible.

Modifications: All stock
Best time: 7.04 (first time) will do more when i can.
Afterthoughts: Coulda been alot better, but traffic was coming along in the mirror
Future Goals: Do another few runs if geoff lets me borrow the G Tech. And do alot better.

dont worry, il start a ride thread soon.
Make: HSV
Model: VY Senator Signature
Engine: 346
Transmision: 4L65E(fitted by original owner)
Diff ratio: Unsure of ratio on stockers, 3.08's i think.
Modifications: Two hole mod, Mafless Tune(Enhanced Automotive)
Best time: 4.83
Afterthoughts: Can't keep traction after 2500 rpm, even with newer tyres on and a passenger. Car is spinning changing from 1st to 2nd also, even with 1/3 tank. Will try it on a full tank see how it goes. Quite happy with the time for now.
Future Goals: I want at least a 3.5 after 3.9's go in and baby cam. Problem is going to be traction.

minux your diff ratio should be more like 3.46, 3.08 sounds a bit to short for a senator. also my old mans wh stato has 3.9 gears and a cam pushing out about 300rwkw, might have to gtech it and see if the senator does any different after you do some work to it, they get a bit of a handfull after you give them a tune and stuff
HSV autos have 3.08. Manual would be 3.73
3.27 HSV Auto for me![]()
haha yeah i was referring to vt-vy ls1's
Ok i re-ran mine last night and got a better time. Woo, im 0.02 faster than geoff!
