I have a 99 model commadore S ute, with the ecotec V6 motor, bucket seats auto, but when ever I go to buy parts etc I get told its allways 2 differant cars?, some blokes tell me "Nah its a VT" but then the next bloke will so say they never made a VT ute, so its a VS???, can anyone tell me once and for all what it is I own???, cheers Ian

Well... there was not really a VT ute. There was a VU ute based on the VX. Does the front look like a VT or a VS? If it's a 1999, I'd be inclined to say you have a VS III utility.

If im correct 98 was series 1 VT, and would have been series 3 ute in the vs.
VU ute wasnt out until 01. So u have a vs ute.
they were both ecotecs anyway.

Yes it will be a VSIII ute, i think they were still in production until early '00, but VU wasnt out til 01 as markie just said.
No confusion about it lol. Thats funny that he said VT ute... good luck findin parts for one of those lol

VS SIII. Made from June 98 to Dec 2000 S/N range from 345445 to 636062.

VT ute - very rare car indeed!

yeah it would be a vs ute. take a pic with your phone off the ID plate under the hood next time you need to buy parts .

ive been plauged with this problem many times.

when i had my first car 88 series 1 vn, ive been given VL parts and ive been given vn series 2 parts both compleatly different in most cases i learnt quick to specify to make sure that im given 88 series 1 vn parts.

95 vs ute, sales reps trying to sell me VR parts

98 vs series 2 5.0L statesman, sales reps trying to tell me that its a WH, even when i tried to buy a genuine cai off a so called "specialist" thats been in the business for many years insisted that they never made a vs statesman in 1998 and that i owned a WH

You own a VS ute series 3 i believe. There was never a VT ute the net ute after the VS was the VU.
