    Default wobbly front wheels

my mate has a hyundai excel and she came t school today complaining that her front wheels are really shaking so much so that she nearly cant drive it. The wobbles get worse when she brakes. What could the problem be?

    4 possibilities

1: tyres have seperated and causing it to bounce/shake
2: Lost a wheel weight ( altho this wouldnat cuase much of a shake , but being female she might be a worry wart
    3: Hit a gutter , buckled rim
4: Overheated brakes and warped discs
    5: its a hyundai :|

get her to slowly drive forward , and watch the front tyres , if its out of shape you'll see it wobble all over the place

also check the inside of the tyre , if the wheel alignment is out it'll have chewed the inside edge out , possibly to steel.. women arent renound for checking tyres for tread regularly
Its not what you know or who you know , its how well you can fake it

as said above... but i will lock in number 4, Over heated brakes.
I only know this , as my ex gf had an excel, and the brakes warped, and it wouldnt drive well at all.
yes, also check inside of wheel, and feel aorund, if it is a ripply effect all up n donw, then allignment is out by a fair bit.
dont worry, il start a ride thread soon.

I know it's a fairly obvious suggestion, but are the wheel nuts all done up properly?

I know a few people that went hunting for some huge and costly explanation, and it was only the wheel nuts.

Yeh check the wheel nuts for sure, we had this problem after buying new rims once, the numbnuts didn't tighten up the wheel nuts and we nearly lost a wheel or 2 on the freeway!

My wife has a Hyundai Excel and we had the same preblem on a trip back from Ballarat to Melbourne. I had to drive as my wife was too scared . It turned out to be the discs were warped. It is a common fault in this model . Hers has only done 80,000 kays

lift the front up and grab the wheel at the top and the bottom and wiggle it, ie your hand movements in oppsite directions, if there is movement its wheel bearings they may need to be replaced or adjusted,

One model Excel had a fault where the front suspension would tear away from the sub frame and the front wheel and suspension would fall off. Definately get it checked out by someone and don't drive it.
