Depends on heaps of stuff, if it's a metallic colour, 2-pak or acrylic etc.

2k , not if its COB , you'll have to get:
2K undercoat kit ( undercoat , thinners and hardener )
    Basecoat colour
    Basecoat thinners
    topcoat
    topcoat hardener
topcoat thinners ( different to basecoat thinners )
Its not what you know or who you know , its how well you can fake it

Also , depending on how many litres of colour you buy , this will determine the price.. but lets say 4lt of colour , 2lt of clear.. 4lt undercoat ( kit makes it 5 lt when mixed )

You're looking at around $600 all up , and thats with a basic matallic , not a fancy pearly or glitter flake

I payed $100 for 3L of 2pack white and 1L of hardner. I got it from a paint shop that was closing down, altho I wish I got the price down lower coz I'm sure they would of sold it cheaper lol. It wasn't a top notch brand, it was a Motospray brand, HiChem.

But for cheap paint, it come up nice as!

Here's a pic a few minutes after coming out of the oven...

And here it is a few days later out in the sunshine...

The prepping is the most important part of the paint job. After all the work was done in the engine bay, it got primed, then a thick coating of high build primer went over it, followed by a light spray of black. Then we got the fine paper out, 500 I rekon, then rubbed over everything lightly. Enough to get all the black off and to leave a smoooooooth as finish...but don't rub through the primer. It was then I handed mine over to the painter and he worked his magic.

I didn't use a clear, its shine is 100% paint.......that's the result of 3 weeks of prepping the engine bay, roughly bout 90hrs all up. Can't wait to see wat the body will turn out like!

So yeah, my cheap $100 paint has turned out pretty killer IMO...altho if I used a different painter I'm not sure it would of come out so shiny...the guy that painted it is a bloody good painter!

sweet that looks good man, im getting it done by 2 retired guys who do up customliners, mustangs and hot rods, so they should do a good job given their not under the clock.
