hi, my learners just expired, i didn't have any money to renew them and QLD transport wouldn't give me an extension, so i gotta redo the written test, and wait another 6 months which means i wont get my license to around about April next yr, and ill be 19 , now is there away so i don't have to wait the 6 months ago, i really need my license, to get around, people are sick of driving me to work, i just wanted to know if anyones done the same thing, thanks

I know in NSW its different.
When I wen't for my motor bike license there were a few people that failed their course and their license expired a few days after that. They renewed their Ls and had to wait about 10 days or something before attempting their Ps again.

But it could be different for you up there

Sounds like the rules have changed along with the new power restriction ones in the middle of this year, but when i had my learners you had a couple of years to renew it once it expired. And to be able to go for your license you had to have held your learners for any month period within the last 2 years. Under these conditions you would be able to just renew ya learners and be able to go for your license straight away so maybe look into it and make sure what they told you is correct. As i said, they were the rules a few years ago but have probably changed by now.

That really sucks if you have to do the written test again and wait 6 months.

i phoned them up today, i can just renew it, but i gotta pay 65$ and have 100 hours logged before i can do my test for my P's again, shouldn't be to hard to do .
