5L cranking time before firing

hey, just wondering how long other peoples 5L cranks before it fires. because mine used to fire pretty much straight away when i turned the key after the pump finished priming, then i discovered the timing was set at 4 BTDC, so i changed it to 10 BTDC, and then it takes about 2 or so seconds cranking before it fires, so i just set it to 7 BTDC (in between the two settings)
but i was wondering if that cranking time is normal, or has my harmonic balancer slipped and i advanced it too far?

With Greenfoams tune, my VN fires up first kick. I'm not 100% sure of what timing advance the tune is running - but I'm guessing a fair bit. The dizzy is set to standard on my car.

yeah, well i got a hsv 180kw tune, but it only started a day or two after i changed the timing, so i dunno what went wrong, as i said, i just retarded it to 7 and it started pretty quickly, so maybe my balancer has slipped, which meant i was running 16 BTDC with the 180kw chip.
