Default Anyone used non genuine panels?

Im replacing my front bumper and guard on my vt and its hard to find second hand ones, all there seems to be are non genuine after market ones.

Have anyone used them, had any problems? comments? quality compared to genuine?

my brother-in-law had a non genuine bonnet on his VP. The fit wasn't too bad but it was very flimsy . The reinforcemet on the underside was alot thinner.

plastics ive found to be ok aftermarket, but i would never again buy a metal aftermarket panel. cheap thin metal, crap

i bought a new aftermarket bonnet and same as dayvos brother in laws, it is flimsy. the whole front where you push down to close it is dented just from normal pushing. i picked up 2 genuine bonnets for $40 each. hard bit is finding stuff when you need it,at the time, wreckers wanted upwards of 150 fora paint peeling vn bonnet. i said stuff that and took my chances with aftermarket. never again

I know a panel beater and a lot of cars here would be fitted with aftermarket panels and I don't think anyone would have any idea.

Only some insurance companies supply brand new OEM panels in the case of an accident. In many cases, smashies are told by insurance to use brand new aftermarket substitutes and the owner just picks up a fixed car.
