was talking to mate today about e-defects yes thats right online defects
apparently police are going through forums and giving out e-defects i the mail to cars unroadworthy
now dunno bout you guys but if its troo i think it stinkswhat right does the gov have sending a defect out in the mail after they see your mods/pics online
anyone else heard this
rumour has it nissan siliva website dude got one

you ahve to if they have suffient evidence that the owner has been doing illegal activities.... but id be wanting to see the proof before darren gave up the info

im sure the cops are busy enough than to go looking on the net for defects.... When you can drive down the road and find one on most cars in 5 sec....

I will bet its a load of ****...

what if the info on the net is full of ****? or if the owner has taken the car back to stock form since the post was made? too many loopholes. they shouldnt be able to defect it unless theyre looking at it

i dont see how its gonna work unless u get caught actually driving the car with these defects if u have ne otherwises whos 2 say the car hasnt been parked in the garage 4 a while?? they cant defect a parked car that hasnt been driven surly? i think stockys right 2 many loopholes

The Government should hire police especially for the job of scouring commodore forums, sending E-defects to everyone who has clear taillights on their commodore to go to Wingfield rather than Regency to have their clear taillights removed and destroyed in the interest of safety a better community and good taste.

but really the cops have a general idea of who the wanker drivers are and they keep them on record, if the guy with his sick 180 was driving like a sick coont drifter and just got away from the cops, what better way to get the toss than by sending a friendly reminder to come down and have his car gone over. Its not a new thing they have been doing this for years but mainly through the Trader.

lol, your right a nissan silvia dude get one, however, this was after he was defected by the police and told to go home and not drive. He continued on driving around only to brag about it on the forum he was advertising on his back window. So instead of a basic defect the police looked him up on the forum, got his rego then visited him. He wasnt issued a defect online so to speak.

I thought they just suspend ur rego, then send ya out a letter saying ya gotta take ya car in to get sussed out.

Personally it doesn't bother me (well not much anyways). They're just doing their job, but instead of pulling a car over to find the defects, they go bludge on the net and find them instead. I've got a few mods which would be classed as a defect, but it's my own fault if they see it and suspend my rego as I did the mods.

If they do it over small crap, well then I understand if it ****es people off (it would **** me off to if they defected me coz they saw a pic online of a cracked indicator in my car), but over pretty big defects I don't have a problem with it.

I guess u could call it a technological advance for the police.

you could just say all the pics have been photochoped. and if they ask to see the vehicle tell them to come to ur house, they cant defect it if its in the garage.
