    Default looking for a UTE

Hi guys, im from the fordforums, but dont stress, im a ford/holden guy. Anyway, ive chosen to look for an old holden ute thats a v8 and a manual. Somethign thats decent and that has a rwc or something that wont need much and that has decent paint. Im using this mainly for work, as im a garderner and i hopefully next year start up my own bussines.

So I wanna look for an HQ holden ute, Am i crazy if i think i can something as i described for around $5000?

    Cheers

If you increased your price a little, you could find a decent condition VG ute with a 5L 5Sp, for maybe around 7 or 8000.

Buying a carby car that you'll be using as a daily is pointless, as fuel will kill you. Unless you put an injected top end onto the older motor.

I think he wants old school guys.. and you cannot get a flatbed in a commodore ute, which would be more practical for carrying around a mower , rideon , and snipper , plus carry ramps and still enough room for the rubbish that needs taking away.

For 5K you should find quite a nice one , check your local trading post , and might be better to find one sitting on LPG , as running costs of a 308 on premium would kill any profits you had in mind ( unless you build a motor to take unleaded ). Maybe even look inland for one , as you'll have less chances of rust.
Its not what you know or who you know , its how well you can fake it

Yeah i plan to use a trailer on the ute as well, mainly for garbage and cuttings.

Good point about them using alot of petrol.

I havent seen many VG utes around at all. Wheres a good place to look for holden utes?
