Just wondering if anyone has tried putting the angel eye look onto there Commodore?
Seen a guy on ebay selling instructions on how to install them on Commodores but thought i better ask if anyone on the board has tried it yet.
If you don't know what angel eyes are they are what you see on new BMW head lights...that halo effect around the light.
dont buy the instructions from ebay. you can find the same instructions on the net. just google it. waste of money.
Yeah they are so cool but never heard of it on a commodore.
There were some Hella driving lights that were out years ago that gave the same affect, the "rings" came on with your parkers from memory. Just be careful though, anything you are likely to attempt would most likely be defectable and not meet ADR's.
I'd imagine that you'd have to use a heat gun on light seal and open it up to put the rings in then reseal the units....sounds messy and expensive if you mess it up.
vy_storm those lights are still avalible through hella and they are adr approved.
as for the angel eye dont bother unless you have prejctor headlights. which from memory are only on vy/z and maybe vx. all other commodore light lenses are not the round "halo" shape. so you would end up with a **** lookin square halo, or a round halo over a square reflective lenses which will block some of the light comin from your headlights.
easiest way is to to get the hella drive lights that have the halo, and replace your fog lights with them, if you have them
Yeah, any idea where you can get them though. I used to have a contact for Hella here in Adelaide but that was years ago. They were never widely available in the shops, and I can't find the buggers on the AU site.
Here's the ones in question for reference.

Just back on the Angel Eye lights. You can pickup the complete kit from OZ Car Parts in SMithfield NSW. The kit requires no heat guns or any fussing. It's a whole light unit with globes and fittings. Thinking about gettinga pair myself, but not heaps fussed. Depends if you want to spend the money. Around $280 pr.
