    Default Vs New Wheels What size

    Hey

    Im 18 years old with a stock vs commodore 1997 series 2 exutive.

    I want some rims but not sure what legally i can get to get another roadworthy so my insuarance pays out (racv). I think the stockies at 15inch's. iw ould like 18 inch rims but i hear im only allowed 2 inchs above orginal size.Thanks alot

    Why don't you ask RACV if they will cover you with 18", its not that large of a change, fair enough if it was 20's you wanted to put on there. Or just do it and don't have an accident.

    i thought the 2 inch law thing wrong? i thought that as long as the overall rolling diameter of the tyre is the same, then its perfectly legal.

    I believe thats correct but the 2 inch law (I think) applies to S.A only.

    Whats going to be the better option 17 or 18s tires size replacment. How much extra are 18 tires going to be?

    Maybe an extra $40 or $50 per tire for 18's. Depends on what brands you are buying. It could cost you more than that.

    Psccchh... sif mags. Get some good 15*7 ceptors on there. If you're desperate for some more tread, get them modded to 15*8. Mags look rubbish in 15", 16" and 17"... you need 18s to look really nice, and you need them in the perfect offset, with just the right amount of dish. Too expensive if you ask me, and so are the tyres

    Bring on the 'ceptors with $50 remoulds!!! yeah!

    ^^^ lol. but if i were you go the 18". tyres are about $50 more but 17" look small now adays cause cars come stock with bigger rims than that.

    in qld you are allowed 1.5 inches more than the standard overall diameter for it to be legal

    No, it is 15mm... Which is 1.5cm not 1.5 inches.

    Thats overall rolling diamater of Tyre + Rim.
