    Default Help In Pricing Of A Car . . . . .

hey guys just curious on what you guys would be payng for this car.

its a 99 model vt ss, 5 litre, 5 speed manual
19 inch chrome rims with new tyres
    lowered
    camber kit
    exhuast system
full alpine sound system worth $4000
    hsv brake calipers
    short shifter
the boot has been shaved and re sprayed.
ohh and the car has only done 105,00 kms

the guy who i am talking to about buying it off seems like a good bloke so i doubt hes trying to rip me off.
but he wants 16 for it, im keen for it, i think consdiering the mods and kms it is a good buy but have been told it is over priced?
    what are your thoughts>?
    cheers

yeh if he wants 16 jst do the norm and tell him 14. if he says no rite away then just say 14500 and thats that. give him ya number and tell him to call u if he wants to sell it cos u will def buy it for 14000 or 14500. thats wot i did with my car, saved 2500 from a dealer and i had them calling me and asking for me to come and c the car again. the salesman even offered to pick me up and drop me off lol.

I agree with everyone else. Bargain with him. Start of ridiculously low, and go from there. You could end up saving yourself a few grand.

Stocky - Maybe he's a P-Plater, and can't drive a Gen 3 legally. Or, he saw the price of petrol yesterday arvo, and **** himself at the thought of the fuel bill. I know I did.

What difference would it make on fuel driving a gen3 and a 5.0L? lol.

I think for the amount of kays and the fact its a manual holds the most value on this car, i think 16 is a reasonable asking price if you ask me, it sounds in great condition, but as always try and bargain him down a thou or 2, try14,500, then 15,000. Have a look on carsales etc for other cars with similar kays etc.

as stocky said, go for Gen 3. they go for around the 11k for a crap one, and 14k for decent one.

yea i would love a gen 3, but ive still got another year and a half on my p's.
curretnly got a vs ute and i usually have to cart my mates around so ive been taking out my mums stocka vs sedan which sucks, so i wanted something that looks sexy, has a bit of go, and i dont need to do anything to it.
allthought i would like to put a monaroe bonnet on it. how much are they?
