Recently iv just got some work done by a suspension company which is aus wide.
Last week (Thurs) we went for a test drive before the work was to be done. On this test drive the technitian at the time ran over my half a dozen or more yellow doof doofs with my chrome lipped 18's. I didnt think anything of it at the time but on saturday i noticed that there were multiple dents on the chrome lip at equal intervals on both the front and rear drivers side wheels. Not to mention the yellow paint and split edge on my tyres. I was goin to call them on monday this week but i decided to wait until thursday as i already had it booked in.
So today i told the manager what had happened. After showing him he had said it was either my own doing as i had admitted to the damage (very slight) on the other two wheels or a wheel fault. I went to the wheel joint i bought the wheels from (on the same road) and they basically said that a wheel fault is totally male cow ****!
Honestly it isnt very noticable but there is obvious damage at a closer look. I was wondering what everyone else would do? Would you ignore it or try to take it further?
Cheers!
Hey mate, not much u can do really. just stand your ground and be firm is all u can do really.
Iv started a thread about this sort of stuff have a read.
Keeping your mags damage free from other drivers

go in there, park your car blocking their entrance, lock it up and wait there and argue your point till they either give in and fix/replace your rims or call the cops to come and arrest you![]()
My rims were scratched once by the mechanics driving onto the hoist, went back and showed them. They payed for it to all be fixed. I am a very good customer there though, all the work on my SS is done by them.
ring them back and inform them you will make a complaint with the dept. of fair trading.
make that complaint if they won't fix it.
hope you got photos
i had some **** tard scratch/dent my door when they put on new tyres (abviously from a tool of some kind) and they refused to pay for it saying that they didnt do it and i had no proof, so i got ****ed over. hard 2 proove. sory 2 hear tho.

Cheers people. Yea im just going to let this one slip the only reason being is that its not real obvious. I think that signing a bit of paper is a good idea but it may push the boundries a little in terms of showing trust ect. Maybe just a quick look around the car with the manager and just simply say i want it back in that condition. This is what i will be doing in the future. Accidents do happen though, but they should be accountable for happens when the car is in their care (or lack of). I wont be letting anything else slide!
I would be worried as to the quality of the rims also if that happened.
I've been in many cars that have gone over those yellow bumps with 18" or 19" rims and never had any damage done. A mate went over some with me in the car doing excessive speeds, and he ran over like 12 of the things and his rims are just cheap VY SS copies, not even genuine and it did no damage.
I've also been in a car when its ran over a medium strip and over a gutter on the right side of the car, popping the front right and putting massive bubbles in the back right hand tyre... But again no damage to the wheels. If the wheels are being damaged before putting bubbles in or popping the tyre, i'd be worried about the rims.
There a deep dish rim with a chrome lip which, has next to no support from any spokes like the wheels you had mentioned. Chrome shows every imperfectionIts not a huge deal thats why im not taking it any further because it not heaps obvious. I guess it also depends on speed, how you hit it and the suspension setup... mine is'nt very forgiving at all.
I sure hope you booked your car in at a different store. If thats what damage they do while your in the car, imagine if you leave it with them.
Not a chance i'd be willing to take.

Sorry, i fail to see the issue here, you let someone else drive it? They then hit something(no idea what you were talking about there) while you were in the car, you then said nothing till almost a week later?
Sorry but if you come to see me with that story, i'd wave goodbye.
Put yourself in the business shoes and see what they are hearing. Even in court you'd have any trouble proving this one.

This is why i am asking for peoples opinions! Im not stupid enough to go to court. Also time doesnt excuse the fact they had done the damage (A week shouldnt matter). At least i showed them what had happened. Now they know to be a little more careful with customer cars.
