After reading many threads and hears lots of stories about people taking their cars into have work done and having the car returned only to find that the mags have been damaged. i'm about to invest in a few g's worth of mags and i will kill anyone who damages them and will not own up to it. so to avoid this i was thinking abuot having a document drawn up, similar to when u hire a golf buggy and u have to inspect it for damage and then sign a form which u can write any damage on there. So when i take my car into a workshop, the mechanic and i can look at the mags and they can sign it saying that no or little damage. This way i can ensure that my mags arent damaged by anyone who didnt pay for them. I dont think its unreasonable to ask a mechanic to sign it because if they damage it they should have to pay for it just like everything else in life .Just wondering if anyone would be interested in getting a copy if i do it or if anyone has done something like it b4. Any comments are very welcome.
Cheers,

why not just take some photos with a little digital camera when you drop the car off and have the time and date setting on. There's your evidence right there.
Car theives should be treated just like horse theives and cattle rustlers in the days of the wild west... Hang them!
Don't be stupid. Power isn't measured by the size of your tacho
Yeh i thought about that but u can change the date on ur camera easily. jst want something concrete that will make someone pay up is anything happens

well if my car gets sumthing dun by a mechanic, wot i usally do is i put stockies on... easy dun takes like 10 mins of ur time and ur rims stay stratch free, but yeh does sound like a good idea wot ur doin if ur to lazy to do wot i do...
But can you change the date on the image AFTER you have taken the photo? Seems pretty concrete to me, especially if the photo is taken with the dealership/mechanics workshop in the background.

Borrow one of the cameras that prints an instant photo, take a photo of each mag on the spot and make them sign them.
Yeh if i could get a detailed shot of the mags and the mechanic it would be fine no dramas. most mechanic would be fine about it and would prob own up to scratching them. but it would be just my luck that they would get a meaty chunk taken out of them and some mechanic that says it wasnt him

I agree what you are trying to do and I would do it too to get it signed, but - wouldn't look like a tool going up to them and get them to sign the paper. I wonder what the look on their face gonna be??
maybe somebody should invent some kind of rim cover
you need a lawyer to draw up something like that becasue if u just have a piece of paper it thats just typed up it probably wouldnt hold up if u tried to take em to court over the matter... best idea is just taking a photo with a current newspaper![]()
