Q's on aftermarket VT guard

I brought a new after market VT guard, you know the black ones.
Does this need primer or is it good to spray?

Also with the vt guards whats the go with the side indicators? can you not reuse them or something, how do you get them off?

to get the indicator of you need to push it to either the front of the rear or the car ( i cant remember which) then pull it away from the car
they come right out
then you need to unclip the globe from its socket which is easier said than done
then your done
