hey guys, been a while since i have been on this site.
Here is the deal. I sold my commodore right, end of october to this guy. I didnt worry about putting in a notice of disposal, as i thought the guys would transfer the rego. Anyway, they havent. I just got a fine in the mail for $80 and 3 points, and i dont own the car anymore! i have a corolla now.
This is the big deal....I LOST THE PAPERS! i dont have any details of the owner or nothing.
IF YOU SPOT A VN CALAIS, WHITE plates AN-66-YG around narrabeen area, or know the person who owns it, please reply to this msg. I know this is a big ask, but anything helps.
Thanks guys.
Solution...
Write a stat dec stating you were not driving the car and indeed you are no longer the owner. State that you posted the notice of disposal in the mail the day you sold the car. The RTA will then be queried and it will be found they never processed your notice of disposal. However things have been known to get lost in the mail so with the stat dec, you should be all good.
Can you at least remember the guy's name?
Always always always submit the notice of disposal. It costs nothing! Why wouldn't you submit it?
i know. This is the first car i have sold. I am the type of person to switch the rego myself, as i thought there was a fine. and good idea. Should i post a letter to the fine company saying that i posted the letter, and maybe it was lost?
i have contacted the guy that bought the car through twincam.info, but not sure if he will reply. the other bad thing is i have lost the papers, which i guess i can say i mailed and got lost.
this is screwed, this situation.
