Was just wondering if anybody has thought of or actually HAS conjurred up a way to create halo/angel eye/projector style headlights or fog lights, i particularly am after VY but i supose this thread could be adapted to any model. I have bought a set of VY SS headlights from ebay, and as soon as they arrive I will swap them with the acclaim ones, they will become my test dummies. If anybody has any suggestions/help on how to make this work, it would be much appriciated. I will be doing my own research into the matter, feel free to add your own two cents.
1st piece of research, looking up on ebay, i have found two mechanisms:
eBay Motors: 01-08 DODGE STRATUS FOG LIGHTS KIT,driving lamps lamp b (item 170149380075 end time Dec-13-07 07:20:55 PST) <-- USING A "LED RING"
eBay Motors: CBR 1000RR CCFL HALO Eyes ANGEL EYES 04-07 (item 300178198845 end time Dec-11-07 07:30:00 PST) <-- USING "LUMINESCENT WIRING"
Cheers guys,
p.s. phreddy (the bloke who does the LED dash conversions, if you could PM me about this i.e. if you can lend any advice/help it would b gr8)
"Forget Fast and Furious, I Drive Slow and Luxurious"
here is my foggies not the best pic .$50 from Kmart includes wiring loom, switch and relay. Best to bin the 50watt globes and put in 100w
there are three types of people in the world , those who can count and those who can't
NO, it is best to NOT bin the 55wattbulbs in favour of 100watt. These are fog lights and complianced as such, you need LESS glare not more, and in conditions where you use them, your speed will be reduced from normal. The typical forward range of front fog lamps ranges 10 - 25 metres out to 50 metres max, in that unique hand fan shaped beam pattern.
If you want driving lamps, used only to aid high-beam performance, see units complianced marked for the function. A driving lamp, bearing on the glass lens the code "HR" near the E mark will do 200 metres plus.
See NARVAS online catalogue for either version, They were suppliers to the VX-VY originals (Sth Korean made). They have replacement units that do bear compliance markings.
Front fog compliance marking is referenced on the lens as "02B" near the E mark, hee the letter R is relevant.
The K Mart lamp you refer I recall does not bear compliance markings, but that said, it is one of those units that actually is a genuine fog pattern.
Purchase a hazard-warning triangle for your car to improve the warning given to approaching traffic at both crash scenes and vehicle breakdowns. Keep it in the boot. I suggest Hella Part Number 2901 - $70, OR http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/onl...215554#details. Accepted under AS3790. http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/media...eSafePart4.pdf
