ive just filled up my tank, did 250km before the fuel light came on...is this usual economy for a vs v6? cos its ****! car has been running with a miss lately, i'm just assuming it needs new plugs and leads, do you guys reckon why it may be chewing up a tank? or is this just usual fuel cossumption on one of these things? its all been city kms n normal driving
250 km does seem a little low unless you have been thrashing your car for the entire 250 km. If the plugs and leads are in poor condition, changing them should improve your fuel economy. I would also suggest giving the car a really good service if it hasn't been serviced recently.
Do a check for fault codes?
Car theives should be treated just like horse theives and cattle rustlers in the days of the wild west... Hang them!
Don't be stupid. Power isn't measured by the size of your tacho
it's likely the oxygen sensor has called it a day. when it does this, it tells the ECU to pump heaps of fuel in, thinking it's running lean.
even if that doesn't turn out to be the problem, if it hasn't been changed for 70k+ it's probably worth doing as they are consumable items.
Seems a little low, I get around 370 - 400 average on BP Ultimate. 40% highway driving.
yea thats really low, i can easily get 500 if i drive nicely, 420-460 if i hoon a fair bit. get your timing fixed, and go from there
You can't fix timing on a VS, it is all controlled by the PCM.
Do a code check. Also plugs and leads can make a big difference.
