I bought a smoky from the wreckers to build as replacement for the very well blown VR engine in my VP, upon the enjoyable stripping process, i was stunned to see it fitted with what looks like factory roller rockers??? if so what model did this happen in, engine number is VH1439716 I been googling all day trying to find a year and model to which this engine fitted, and if these rockers were a mod or spec upgrade, if anyone can enlighten this chappy, please do,k obviosly i'd prevere to use the rollers for valve life reasons,
jimmy excuse the typo, 3.8 series II

V6 engines have had roller rockers from the beginning
vn series 1 were just pedestal type sitting on a half moon style thingo(pic would explain better) and s2 onwards got a bearing roller pivot.
yeh ok, so im bored. i went and took a pic

now before the gravedigger cops jump on me....I KNOW, I can read the date
so...If I'm going to be changing the rocker covers on me S1 engine anyway, would it be worthwhile to change the rockers to the S2 ones I have sitting around? Doesn't seem to be a big job to me.
s1 ran 3/8" bolts, s2 5/16. different size, no real benefit. spend a few hundred and get the yt 1.8 roller rockers.
