Hey all
After moving to Perth and driving over, my tyres( inparticular my rears) are looking very sorry indeed. Not just the tread, but the walls from rubbing on my guards even tho they are rolled.
Im currently running some Chinesa specials on there and its time to upgrade, at least the rears. Im running 245 35 19s all round.
Just rang Bridgestone here in Cannington, $670ea for 050s, $450ea for Federals. I nearly fell off my chair at the bridgey price but its to be expected.
Phoned tyrepower in Subiaco, Kuhma 19s and 31s for $430ea inc fitting balancing and tyre disposal. I think im going with these puppies.
Question being for all you with 19s, what are you running, and what do you think of the Kuhmas? Any other reccommendations?
Cheers.

Kumho's are fine, the KU-31 has lots of grip also they are a soft compound tyre so you might have to rotate them after 5000kms. They are still a bit pricey compared what I can get them for.
I am running the last run of Goodyear F1's, will be going back to Dunlop SP Maxx, at $340 a corner, no tyre comes close.

ive got 245/35 19' kumho escta's, they are awsome for the price.
really good grip, and good milage!
Hey Highendrev i put a set of Yokohama Advan Sports 235 35 19s on mine 2 months ago and after having Bridgestone 040's as standard in a 235 (would never buy another set) and a set of Dunlop SP's in a 245, i prefer the yokie, plus the Yokie being a 235 with my guards rolled don't rub anymore, Cheers![]()

...anyone who has any questions about whether it is a good idea to run 19"+ tyres on the street in the real world and not just on show cars only has to read this thread...good lord...I could almost get a full set of tyres for my Lumina for the price of one of the tyres mentioned...
I also think you should really do something about the "constantly rubbing on the guards"...when the inevitable blowout occurs, you would wanna hope you don't have an accident and have to deal with the insurance companies (either your own or the other guys) or your arse will be grass and they will be firing up the mower...I know someone who had thier insurance claim knocked back (and the other drivers costs awarded against them) because they had a lambswool steering wheel cover on thier old VW Beetle..."lack of adequate vehicle control", was the excuse.
My tyres(chinese) would rubb ocasionally under load even with the guards rolled.
Went with the Maxxis, $249 a tyre at BJ. Happy with the service from them at Bob Jane Perth. Thanks for your input Brad, rep coming your way.

i asked for input. I got some.
I heard not only from Bob Jane but from Tyre Power and Bridgestone that these tyres are very reasonable.
Appreciate everyones input.
i run cheap ****ty nan-kang-changs cause im a tight prick.
I run Antyre, $230 a corner, good value for money I think. Only if you dont mind a slightly noisy tyre!
I didnt think my maxxis were that bad. I got some pretty expensive dunlop sp3000a's now, they are a little better in wet, but heaps noisier. I think about the same in the dry, but i dont really race them around a track or anything. Maxxis are a good tyre just to cruse on. Only prob i had with them, is i didnt get many kms out of them. But that was mainly from my driving style i think
Australia. Love it or leave it
