    Default Remote Start on 308....

    Hi Guys,

I have myself a Nissan Patrol with a 308 fitted, It has a two way Alarm system, that also has a remote start feature, which is handy when it is cold, and a good party trick when everyone is standing around it and I'm nowhere to be seen...lol...

Anyway, This week, My Battery light came on, so i checked the Alternator wires etc and used a Multimeter to see if it was charging, and it is.... The issue is, because the Alarm uses the Battery light as a sensor for remote start, e.g light off, Engine is running.. Now when I use the remote start, The car starts, and while it is running, the Starter Motor bursts to life 6 times for 5 seconds, trying to start the engine as it thinks it is not running...
I cannot find why this light is on....

Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated..

Not really, Batt light is perfect for telling it when the engine is or isnt running...

    Default All Sorted...

I decided, as it stumped me, to put a new set of Brush's and a new Voltage Reg in, Fixed it...Apparently every now and then a Reg will Fail, by allowing the Battery to be charged, but sending an Earth to the Batt light.......Making it light up....

So yeh, $40 Later, she is again a Remote Started 308...........

This is probably a moot point, but remote starts are illegal AFAIK in vic. You must be in the vehicle, at all times, while the engine is running.
