    Default power steering noise?

    just got a new vs and the power steering seems to make a bit of noise when a turn...i'm assuming its the power steering pumps, i've heard it's a common problem...its not going to **** it's self on me isn't it?

    not for a while... mine's been doin it for ages, i just havent had the time to get it serviced. go get it serviced and all should be good ... and also make sure there is enough fluid, i know it sounds stupid but thats the most often reason for the noise

    If the fluid level is OK, then it will be the vanes in the pump. A recon pump or if you are handy, you can rebuild it yourself. Around $80 for a rebuild kit which comes with the vanes and seals.

    you could just rebuild the pump with the exsisting vanes if the outer ring isn't to badly worn, just turn em around and use the unworn side.

    You can't. The edge of the vane is in contact with the housing, turning it around won't do anything.

    yes true, but only one side is in contact with the housing, the otherside doesn't do anything. i did this on the missus VS and the pump is much better. good enough for me

    Im a bit lazier I bought a reco for $90.00 off national power steering in dandenong (but I do know the guy there)
