Default VYII Acclaim vs VZ Executive

    Hi all,

To start with, my first post here, so sorry if I'm doing the typical newbie post the question thats been asked a million times, flogged to death etc etc.

Also checked out other forums, best I can see this is the most suitable.

I've got a budget of around $15,000, and I'm after either a VYII Acclaim or a VZ Executive from what I've been able to narrow it down. I understand good and bad deals will pop up within each range, but generally would you recommend one vs the other?

Its going to be a regular drive around car, two people, possibly future family, like having a bit of power but nothing massive.

At this stage I seem to be leaning towards the VZ, mainly because as far as I can tell, a lot of the upper features of the acclaim on the VY is standard on the exec in the VZ (i.e. cruise control, power winds) correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway opinions to help me out would be greatly appreciated. Again I'm new so be nice!

    Hey Welcome TO JC

With your questions its hard to say yeah go buy a VZ exec, its really up to you, and what you like, have you taken both cars for a spin ??

Main reason being is some people dont like the alloytec engines in the VZ because they dont take off as quick as the ecotec and with the alloytec you have to use more higher revs to get going, though then some people will not like the ecotec etc. For 15K you should be able to find a nice VY Acclain with low k's etc. In the other hand a VZ you might be still looking at 18K for a decent one...

Can i ask what state your from ??

Reason im asking is prices are all different, i know in WA, VZ ecex are still going for 18K++....

VY II Acclaim because i drive one! - Cant go wrong, however the vz imo come with better sound systems + the cool "Digital" speedo, as opposed to my cruddy Analogue one >_< hahaha ooh and also get a sliver one - they go faster

vz, with decent premium fuel an alloytec better off the mark i find than an ecotec,

alloytec is also a much better designed engine and dosnt appear to have any funny noises and oil leaks from factory, vz is also cheaper to service and better for re-sale value
