i know this has probably been asked a zillion times but i want more info on the VX clubsport, i have read all the posts but just wondering should i go a vx clubby or vy ss....i simply love the look of the vx so am leaning towards that just want to know what i should i pay for a 100k car? and wat does the R8 option give me? the car yard offered me 4000grand for my 95 stato with 300k on the clock its in good nick, nice wheels(3000 worth) but has a few little issues ie air con not workin, tint scratched, rear main leaking "slightly" whats a fair price i should get for it? i was thinking 6g easy.....maybe i should sell her in parts if i could bring myself to do that to the poor girl lol considering how frigen expensive parts are could end up makin more off it...
thanks in advance
The R8 i think had premium brakes, Coulsen seats, climate(maybe) and a few other small differences like wheels etc.
I wouldn't pay any more than 25k for one. I'd take it over the VY SS just for the extra options on a HSV.
See your car is on the road again. Hadn't seen it on Rollins rd for a while![]()

You could always spend a little more and buy something like this
HSV CLUBSPORT Y Series 2 R8 2004 details - CarPoint Australia
Which looks better than both models![]()

VX clubby wernt worth 100k. only the GTS where worth around that much. they had the callaway motor where as the clubby has the LS1 (same as the VY SS). R8 will give you better interior (seats mainly), brakes and a badge i beleive. rims where the same. prob pay around 25-30k for a clubby, obviously more towards 30k for low k's, red/black paint, manual. they are almost exactly the same price as a VY SS. a GTS on the other hand would set you back round 45k. hope this helps.
Rims were different, R8 has a different champagne 5 spoke.
Premium brakes were still an option even on the R8
Interior is better, plus you get R8 bades on the boot, and under the indicators of the front fenders.

yeah 30grand for a 2001-2002 car is a bit steep i have found a few for under 25 but the km's are creeping up ie 150,0000 or they have been modified and i would rather a standard one, and the vy's simply dont do it for me, dont like them at all, sorry minux! then i start thinking of the wh stato which are hell of a lot cheaper, same motor(sort off) same interior(sort off) but oviuosly more hungry on the fuel, and not as fast.....so when the used car salesman was saying the r8 options worth at least 5 grand more than the standard clubby he is full of it??? maybe when the car was new but not on a second hand car....it didnt even have premium brakes...arrrrgggghhhhh maybe i just wait out till the ve gts comes down half the price lol thanks for ya help fellas
R8 optioned VX clubby is def not worth an extra 5K second hand. new yes but second hand know. your getting ripped of. yeh im with you i dont like the VY clubbys (senators, SS are nice in the VY range tho). go for a total stock one if you get the chance.
