    VX SS maybe?

If insurance is an issue im assuming you want a 6 then? Young fella? Get a VZ Exec/Berlina for that nowadays.

VX exec for 15-17 grand!!! Thats a rip off....
Mate payed 11 for his VY SII exec in mint condition.
If your not compleltly fussed with what you get, go to the auctions, a few mates have picked up some nice cars for good prices.
WH's are alright, except for there size, good for the money, plenty of features, but they arent a quick car, but if ur not fussed then it wouldnt matter, but only get the GENIII, dont touch a V6 in somthing that big, supercharged or not!!

By the end of the year you would be able to get a MINT VX SS maybe even VY SS if you get really lucky at an auction or somthing.
Depends if your after a 6 or 8 and manual or auto.
Obviously expect to pay more for the v8 and more for the manual

Dont bother buying from a dealer, you will pay several thousand more than you would privately, and that "warrenty" doesnt do anything, trust me i used to work at a car yard.
Its a waste of time and just gives them more money if you pay for it.
There is like 1000 conditions for them and if your car doesnt meet one of them you will not get a cent out of them.

As for other manufactures, depends what your after? if your after a V8, your really sorta limited to holden/ford..... unless you get imported chev or somthing.
Unless you want something japanese, then maybe skyline, silvia or somthing along those lines.
Personally i would stick to holden though

Personally i would be looking at a VS Clubby, but thats not for everone, LS1 VT SS's or VX SS's would be a reasonable choice, if you can find a VY 8 then go for that. Looking around a carsales though they seem a bit pricey, hell people are trying to palm VS SS's off for 11 grand... I would go for a VX SS if you can find one at a decent price you have a couple of grand to spare, so you can fix up anything that may need it, get a simple mod like an exhuast to tide you over or put towards insurance.

I just passed recently on a 04 series 2 vy berlina 5.7ltr. 60000 kays in excellent condition for $19500 with rwc, 17" rims with new tyres.
You'll definatley pick up something decent. For the money you have to spend i'd look at a vt/vx ss for sure.

    Hey mate,

I used to have a WHII statesman, SC V6. Was a really nice car for the price, plenty of features and great for driving 4 adults around. The V6 was ok although Gen3 are obviously better. Depending what your after its almost worth considering the SC V6 and putting an intercooler on. not sure what an Air-water intercooler would set you back but they make good power, plenty of torque and quick off the line. Not to mention better fuel economy. Not saying its the [/best/] option, but it is an option.
