hey i just had a question because im about to start painting my engine block and i was wondering would it be better to prime it first?
is it really necessary? like would it be better in the long run that the paint wouldnt fade or come off easier or anything like that?
cheers
if you're going to do it you may as well do it properly.. right?
i guess it depends on your budget and time commitment.
if it is ur engine block then i would just get paint that can stand the heat that will came off ur block, if its not smooth which engine blocks are not i would not bother coz all primer does is give it one colour to paint over (if it different colours) and give it a nice smooth area for the paint to stick to and look smooth like a car panel.
if it was ur engine bay then yes primer it coz i will need something to stick too.
how that helps you out.
cheers that helped.
should hopefully start painting it in the next couple of days
