Hi guys,
ive decided to change the colour of my grille which is currently (black) for a white Vt. However after i went and asked my local repco the guy suggested that i sand paper it and then spray it.
after i unscrewed them (the grilles) and gave them a good wash i got kinda concerned, and started thinking that the paint might fall off after a while.
so is this the correct way of doing them cause they werent sprayed before?
do they need an undercoat?
Anyways this was the spray paint i baught (power plus, spray & brush system; touch up paint)
Would love to hear from anyone with exp.

Get some plastic primer, and some paint, and depending what paint you bought its best to put a clear coat on it too.
Clean up all surfaces on it, MAYBE give it a light sand with a fine grit paper somthing between 600-1200 grit would be fine, give it prob 2 coats with plastic primer.
Let dry etc... give it a light sand with really fine grit sand paper, and then give it a few coats of the color untill you are satisfied with the consistancy and color.
Only do light coats at a time and let dry between coats.
And then put 2 or 3 light coats of clear over the top and it should look a million bucks!
go back and buy some plastic primer. clean the grille real good, you can sand it if you want, then hit it with plastic primer, then paint. the plastic primer will adhere to the plastic grille properly and give something for the paint to bite to
thank you guys,
will do first thing tomorrow
