    Default Good deal?

I've been quoted $880 for pacemaker extractors and a redback 2 1/2 cat back exhaust fitted to my vr series 1. This a good deal? But also I've been thinking about getting extractors with shorter pipes, so i got lukey ones priced. For the lukey's, take $80 off the price. What do you think?

sounds pretty cheap to me. usually around $500 for the pacies alone. doesnt leave an awful lot to labour costs.

Sweet! Yeah, i also got a quote from some other place. They wanted $1100 for the same setup. I also asked about a twin-tip, he said $80...but i might try and get that down a bit

    Hey mate,

Yeah price isnt bad. I just paid $1100 for my exhaust system (VR V6) which included pacemakers and custom 3" system. The sound is amazing and no drone at all. they also custom made the exhaust to sit very close to the body of the car, that way it doesnt scape on bumps (ultra low suspension).

Just be aware though, on VR/VS the pacemaker Y pipe has a tendency to vibrate against the exhaust. So after they finish fitting it, jump under the car and look/listen for any rubbing... Its super annoying. Apparently its much worse on the manual cars... Going ot have mine looked at tomorrow.

Oh ok, thanks for heads up. Mines an auto . He also said something about changing the resonator to one that will keep exhaust sound just under legal limit and will also get rid of drone. And he said thats no big deal and that it wont change the price

    Obviously a V6? V8 Pacies are about 800 alone.

I ended up asking my boss/mechanic to see if he could beat the price i've already been given. I can now get it done for $830 fitted. Pacemaker extractors (PH5009) with 2 1/2 redback cat-back exhaust system (STR102 & STR104). Plus he said he will do a twin-rolled ended tip for $55. So all up $885 fitted and including tip.

I 'almost' went for a redback system for my VE, based on how good the distributor told me they were, however after trying to Google info, there was F all, so i opted out for a sweet sounding custom 3", thanks to City Custom Exhaust...
