    Default traxxion or yellowsea tyres?

was perusing ebay for ideas on replacement rubber for the clubby and found guy's selling traxxion and yellowsea tyres for like $100 each

Tyres are damn important and I would never compromise on safety, but for the rears why not "maybe".

    Any thoughts?

that was my attitude untill recently, i had a HUGE moment down on the far side of warburton with 2 ppl in the car, was wet but wasnt speeding, like 70 in an 80 zone waitin for my mates to catch up and i almost spun it into the trees as i went over a hump and a kink in the road, i race karts, grew up on a farm so theres not much that gets my heart jumping in any vehicle but after that, no more **** tyres for me

    hey guys

i skimmped on tyres when i had my sv6, maxxis for 250 a pop. they were shiessenhausen. soft arse walls and not very grippy at all. i went against a few people heres advice eg minux and i regreted my purchase in the end. never again will i buy poo rubber. got kumhos on my clubby, they seem to be a huge improvement.

Farlig, shop around, you can get SP maxx for $370 a corner for 19's. Much much better than $100 cheapies. If you have no luck shoot me a PM, I may be able to organsie a few to send over. That being said, if you want cheapies, can get nankangs in 19's for about 180 a corner.

well that sounds better than the 625 a corner for dunlops and 525 a corner for goodyears i was quoted and that is in 18s. I will need to shop around for better quotes closer to the time i actually need replacements.

so exa89 did the traxxions smoke nicely ?

If its smoke ur after save urself even more money n just by retreads, new tyres dont smoke as well that bein said thats wat u should do with the nangkangs thats all they r worth they r on par with maxxis. If i was u save as much as u can bein tight on tyres can get u into trouble fast.

has anyone got 225/35/20 traxxion tyres?? what are they like?

i know traxxion is a cheap brand, but as far as i know, they are the only tyre brand that suits 20's & have the correct load rating for a commodore??

    Cheers,

INfin8-- have you tried using NEXEN branded tyres as they have the corrct load rating as and make sizes as far as 13 up to 26" tyres they are much better than those
burnem-up tyres TRAXXION AND YELLOWSEA.. seriously people just dont trust any tyre you havent heard of ok..
    take it from me, i am a tyre fitter by trade and i recommend using dunlop {$470 18"}
goodyear {$400 18"} or sumitomo{$250 18"} as well as bluestreak{$250 18"} {bluestreak is the cheaper range at any beaurepaires store....
    happy tyre buying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where are you guys buying your tyres???

From the mafia? With a gun pointed to your head?

I use Dunlop SP Sport's on my VY SS with 18's, what comes on the falcon XR's, therefore we use them at work on the HWP cars, and therefore they have been given a fair workout and they are a fine tyre!

    I pay $180 a corner, and that's not a blue suit discount!

I don't know how anyone could pay $500 dollars a corner for tyres and not be in a psychiatric institute. That's ridiculous unless you're on a race track.

im now running traxxion 225/35/r20 and for the price ($195ea) there on a par with the previouse tyres i have used in 20" being Nankank NSII and Wanli. yes they can be a bit sketchy in the wet but thats if u drive like a tool

i cant c the point of paying for better tyres, they seem to hold their own while under heavy brakes, and grip ok when the clutch is dumped. i will most likely run these tyres at the drags tonight just to c how they go (since my slicks dont get here till next week)

... the only thing between you and the road is your tyres... so why skimp out? you can have awesome brakes, abs, esp, the lot, and without good tyres they're useless. And generally its when your in an emegency that good tyres will save your arse.. when you need to stop and when you need to turn hard. I nearly rear ended someone once because my tyres were **** and the tread was getting low (still legal)... it just would not stop in the wet. I upgraded to a silica tyre and good tyres make a world of difference.

The traxxion will be ****, so get something decent.

I looked these tyres up, a while ago I think the yellowsea ones especaily, they pass all the dot ratings and are a high speed tyre. One of the best tyres made in China. I used to run chinese tyres on my dirt bike yeaaaaaars ago. Great tyre and good value, if there one thing you can trust the Chinese with it's making rubber, I can't even count the table tennis tournaments I've won with Chinese made rubbers

Cheap doesn't allways mean bad. Cheap often means good with cheap slave labour behind it . There are some very expensive with tractionless crap tyres around that heaps of people are happy to pay 2-300 bucks a go on. I wouldn't ever bag out a tyre unless I've run it and found it to be crap because chances are it will be good. If I had big wheels I'd give yellowsea tyres a shot for sure. I have the quickest 60 foot time of any 5 litre auto on the stock stall converter ever.... on $50 tyres

    Says it all really
