    Default HSV Suspension

Found out today that some HSVs have "STD" on the info plate in the engine bay and some have "FE2".

    Checked mine and it's "STD".

Anyone able to clarify this? I'm surprised to see "STD" (standard) on a HSV of any kind when referring to suspension.

Are you sure some say fe2?

I see the holdens leaving for HSV on the trailers fairly regularly with their stockies and black bumpers... They appear standard height so im guessing the suspension is done at HSV so the original plate would say standard suspension?

    mine says STD

I thought all HSV sedans come out of Holden's as standard berlina's then off to HSV for all the good stuff to be added.

Clubsport, GTS is based on berlina, Senator on Calais.

They also always leave Holden with stock suspension.

You sure? How did the Sv5000 get it then considering they were berlina based?

Wrong... All three are based on the Calais. My VIN number is proof of that.

Not sure, that was my point. Some Group A's got climate control also.

Climate control was only available in the VN Calais (although not even the early model VN Calais' got it).

Yeah, my VIN told me a Berlina. They probably just pinched the climate out of the Calais and used that in the HSV's. Woudnt be hard to do.

Thing I don't understand is that my car is based on the Calais. Fine. But two things I had in the VE Calais that I don't have in the Clubsport are:

    1. Auto up front windows. Both are auto down but the Calais had auto up on both too.
    2. Electric slide (forward and back) and the driver's and front passenger's seat. Driver's seat in the Clubsport on gets 4 way height adjust electric. Everything else is manual. Same as my 2000 VX Commodore S.

I'm not complaining though - the Clubby has full leather where the Calais didn't, plus it's got an LS2, plus it's manual, plus it is just basically shit loads better than the Calais ever was

Although I think leaving out the elctric seats was just HSV being cheap!

No, I want the seats - they should just be full electric, or at least as electric as the Calais which is HSV's starting point for the Clubsport.

Hey guys just read through the replys and i could not find what i needed so i thought i would add to it. I have a VY Senator and it also says STD for suspension. My question is does that mean the suspension on my car is just a standard holden height spring or are the HSV "standard" springs lower then "standard" Holden?

Thats pretty poor. I would expect auto up to come in all the holdens. My dads 1991 mazda 626 has auto up. As for the seats the holden caprice comes with full auto seats, you would think a HSV would. I even expected full auto in the holden vy ss, but unfortunately i was wrong =(
