Hi all we are my brother and my self are restoring a CDT (Country Dealer Team) turbo VH S3 Commodore and are in need of some info if anyone can help or point me in the right direction please
the car is a
CDT VH S3 Turbo
colour: mercury silver
5 speed
173 turbo motor (I think) but the motor was tired so it has been bagged up and put in storage to perserve it and a worked blue 202 fitted with a 2 1/2" SU fitted in place of the original Zennith CD175 carby that was dead
what I need is what the stripe work looked like, colours and how it was place on the car
and stickers what type and where were they fitted on the car
I have had the original CDT stickers reproduced to go back on it
and what are the original wheels
any help most welcome as we are trying to restore it to original
the last owner was a P plater and was not aware of what he had and changed the appearance a lot on the car, we have now got it lookin original except for the stripe, stickers and wheels
thanks

hello,
i cant help and i know its not and HDT.. but.. maybe join brockcommodores.com and ask the same questions. some of the guys on there have a great deal of knowledge when it comes to old school commodores and special editions such as yours and may be able to help you out more.
also, maybe try buying old magazines like this for pics and info:
MOTOR MANUAL NOVEMBER 1982,XE PHASE6,CDT VH,LANCIA HPE - eBay Classic, Vintage Cars, Cars, Bikes, Magazines, Books. (end time 05-Feb-08 21:15:00 AEDST)
ps: the VH looks sweet, good luck with the resto![]()
cant help ya with the restor. but that a wicked car, never heard of it before... how do they go??is the turbo motor any good??
w....t.....f?
that's super awesome! - reminds me of the UC sl/t torana!
more pics!
it goes real good and suprises a lot of V8 drivers
the original motor was a 173 I think, still went very well but I wanted to preserve it so decided to put it in storage for the future and put the worked 202 in her
its nice to drive and gets lots and lots of looks and questions of what is it
if anyone is interested in seeing it send me an e - mail at promptair@msn.com.au and we can arrange something
it is in the eastern suburbs of Melb and we have all the documentaion, specs and some reports on them
cheers

Phat!.............
Shut up when I'm talkin' to you, you hear me, answer me!
It's still not helping I know but it's very cool to see Australian automotive history being preserved by someone who cares, especially when it's something away from what is widely known about ie., in this case, Brock and HDT Commodores.
I have a collection of old magazines like those suggested by vee ka (Motor from 1981, Wheels from 1983, some Turbo Australia, plus a few randoms) which might be relevant, so I'll see if I can dig up anything to scan for you. I do remember a CDT (TE) Gemini but not anything about a CDT Commodore. I can probably find a few articles on other similar turbo conversions to early Commodores too, if anyone is interested.
thanks all I have made contact with one of the brothers that ran CDT and he has all the info required YES YES YES BETTER THAN SEX
the car was delivered to Balmoaral Holden in Preston here in Vic, I think they were/are
was supplied with Globe mags. should be able to get them ok
it was fitted with a SAAS 4 spoke s/wheel that had a CDT badge for the horn button, that may be a bit harder to find
he is going to dig out all the build paper work for me and he thinks he may still have some of the original stripe work that I can get coppied
cheers all for your help and support considering I am a Ford person but could not stand to see this car get trashed
