Yer you can do it for under a grand if you have mates that can engineer or weld both makes it cheaper, have a look at the sc14 threads. Also on ebay atm theres full kits for sale 800.

No doubt about it, diff gears is your best option

Nothing higher than 3.9 tho, otherwise you'll have no top end, and use alot of fuel at highway speeds.

Extractors (if you don't have them already), diff gears and tune.

extractors and gears look to be the way to go, but the gears should only set me back a couple of hundred i would think, i dont want to go for an lsd because i just dont have the cash, and im not that serious about it sticking around corners or anything like that. you reckon once ive got the full exhaust and diff gears to get a dyno tune aswell? will that add extra kw?

A dyno tune in itself will cost u over a grand.
Get a tune off foamy and a set of diff gears, and you will prob be wanting LSD or spool with those diff gears too

well a good LSD will be costing me close to a grand anyway, and possibly more with the extra gears. whats the harm in just putting the new gears in the standard diff? will i be getting too much wheelspin off the line or something?

    Is it auto or manual?
I would go with 3.7s personally, if its auto i wouldnt even bother with 3.45's, but 3.45's are spose to be pretty decent in a manual

Assuming this is a V6? VS it's just about time to call it quits on the go fast. If it's a 5 litre follow the above posts ^

yea its an auto six, but the auto is on the way out, so eventually ill have to replace the box, or convert to manual, i havent decided. if i do go with 3.7 they will be way to high for a manual gearbox, so i guess now i have to decide on whether or not i want to convert to manual, or just stick with an auto box. ive never been a fan of the holden auto gearboxes, everyone i have had has crapped itself on me, but if i do convert to manual, then ill have to get 3.45 gears now and wait until i convert to manual (which could be quite a few months away) to experience the best response from them. sorry for the rant, sometimes stuff gets too complicated!!!
