Engine cleaners

hi gents

what do you reckon about the oil additives that you run through the engine before dumping the oil? are they worth it or just a crock? is there any possibility of damage to bearing or seals in the motor from using these?

depending how much gunk is in the motor sometimes they can block the pickup and render your motor with no oil pressure.

Well, I used a oil flush additive at about 170,000kms on my VP V8 and I can say it helped clean my rockers. I saw no adverse effects at all. I beleive its good to do it once in the lifetime you have the car, especially if its old. Just read what the bottle says and dont over do it. I didnt drive my car with the flush in, I just let it idle, gave a a few revs then dumped it out, and I saw that it cleaned, so I was satiffied.
