-just wondering how water injection works
-how much power gain there is
-and how to set it up
any info would be great

some tractors that ran on kero had these set ups.
Basically water njection allows you to run the car with a leaner fuel mix.
without burning a valve out.
You could easily DIY a set up so when you coast down a big hill, you shut fuel off, and turn water on. = saving fuel, and the water (steam) cleans all carbon deposits off.
Good idea!
HUH water in the cylinder?
Sorry if i im mistaken, but wouldnt water **** everything up, rather then clean, the water would need to flow across and be completly pushed out before the piston reached the top which is not possible in a 4-stroke engine. Water doesnt combust, nor ignite so it would crack a piston or head gasket very quickly.
i THINK he is referring to forced induction cooling.
were talking about fairly small amounts of water, used during the normal combustion cycle. this is effective at cleaning the engine (steam cleaning) although thats just a bonus as the original purpose was to help cool the intake charge for increased performance. it was used on WWII fighters but was forgotten about for a long time. you see the odd ride with it fitted but it seems to be making a comeback.
suits both n/a and FI
i'm sure this was also posted in another section.
if you interested in this you can purchase kits that have everything oyu need or can fab something up yourself. do a search on google and see what you can learn there

Why you dont see it anymore is it is a waste of time and money, it's not very effeicent when compared to A2A or better yet W2A. Although it may considered cheap the potential gain v cost far outweighs a similar intercooling setup. IF you wish to do this consider running a 50/50 methanol blend. You can get some window cleaning concentrates that are methanol based.
A mate of mine built a 355 with a vortech blower & intercooler in a genuine GTSR that had water injection. my understanding is that it goes in just before the manifold or blower (cant remember) but it cools your engine gives it more oxygen plus it boosts compression-water dosn't compress.it had a small washer bottle in the boot about 3-5 litres in it where the throttle position switch has a micro switch that it works when the blower is under boost. only a very fine mist. can someone correct me if i am wrong.
this is good for suck through set ups as you cant intercool..... am currently looking at ways to cool my mini as im running a suck through sc12 supercharger, so far water injection seems the best way
