Good morning
I am most likely getting my hands on a vortech v1 this week, and there are a couple of things I want to double check
I have a VS Calais, with a stock 5L in it. I will be getting a full twin 2.5inch exhaust system, and a tune when the charger is installed.
The charger comes with an 11psi pulley, what would be recommended to replace it with? Would 8psi be too much?
Also I will need bigger injectors I assume, what else would be recommended?
Cheers

haha you serious? great minds think alike! good work. nah im buying off a mate who has used it 4 times, its costing me 3g. yeah im going to mount it myself, but not put the belt on until i get everything else sorted. i dont want to risk damaging anything.

Also man, best place i been told to get new pulley is off EBAY, the US one. HEAPS CHEAPER.
CAPA rrp for a pulley is $180 ish, they are going in the us for about $50.
Also where is the best place to get the injectors?
Just saw they are quite cheap from the US again.
And could anyone with a blower on there VN-VS, would you mind chucking up some details photos of the install and all that.
Thanks heaps,
(Sorry for the thread Hijack dude)
you have seen mine geoff.... lol check my ride thread
also try injectorsonline for you injectors they have a fair varity

And does anyone know a part number, or size of an 8 psi pulley?
They are listing the sizes of the pulleys and not PSI rating???
Would these be fine to suit a vortech V2 blower?

Edit: dave.... ill check it out now![]()
Bigger fuel pump mate, don't wanna run lean. A tune, probably want a strong box and a minispool tooIntercooler wouldn't hurt either.

why would you want a mini spool?

Without trying to start a sh!t fight if your spool screaches something is very wrong.

I wouldn't use a Walbro pump, too many issues both genuine and Chinese copy. Stick with a Bosch and you can't go wrong.
Any company worth buying from quotes their pulleys in size, not boost. To many factor's effect boost to be anywhere near accurate.

did i give you that injector site i used geoff? best price i could find, and they included a sheet containing the tests they ran on the injectors. flow rates of each, etc.
buying from the US is a good idea for any part. take advantage of the exchange rate

I would use the standard intank pump as a lift pump (run an external surge tank if you want the extra safety) and then an external Bosch 044 which will handle the power level you are all chasing with ease. They can be had for around the $180 mark if you shop around, but make sure its a Bosch item, and not a Bosch replacement one.
Also when I was researching blowers a general rule of thumb with a vortech is for every 5mm (.20") pulley difference you get an aprox PSI change of between 1-2psi. Of course lots of things can change this, and not all the pulleys go up in ratio's of 5mm. Also remembering a smaller pulley equals more boost.

id say this is what you would need. just change the selection to 39lb/hr at least. theyre 279 US which is 298 AUS at the moment.

Depending on how much power you want to make look for;
L67 injectors - handle around 450HP @ the flywheel
Audi 2.2lt Turbo - 480HP @ the flywheel
Audi 2.2lt 5cyl - 550HP @ the flywheel
Saab 2.3lt turbo - 570HP @ the flywheel
The last three cars not many people know suit the commodore so you might be able to find someone wreaking one of the above and pick them up cheap.

Running low boost (8psi) with all supporting hardware, expect around 220-230rwkw (395-415 flywheel horsepower)
With an intercooler and 10-12psi along with all supporting hardware (injectors, fuel pump, exhaust, tune, etc) most see around the 250-260rwkw (450-470 flywheel horsepower) mark.
